Core ConceptsRoles & Access

Roles, Page Access & Machine Access

Understand Admin, User, and Operator roles, restricted pages, machine permissions, and missing-access messages.

Which Role Do I Have?

Your role sets the outer limit of your access. Page Access and Machine Access are separate permissions inside that limit.

RoleWhat it allows
AdminManage settings, invite users, edit machines, change access, and use admin-only pages within their own company.
UserEveryday work within the pages and machines granted by an admin. Cannot invite users or edit machines.
OperatorLimited shop-floor access granted by an admin. Never has Hall Plan, Orders & Products, or Alert Rules.

System (Automator) is an automated actor in event history, not a human role.

Which Pages Can My Admin Grant?

Access classPages
Admin onlyAdmin Panel, Organization Statistics / Org Stats, Leaderboard, Automator, Peak Optimizer, Machine Configuration. These cannot be granted to a User or Operator.
Grantable page accessOrders & Products (orders), Alert Rules (alert_rules), Shift Planner (scheduler), Assignment Planner and Assignment Gantt (assignment_planner), ERP Uploads (erp_uploads), Kanban (tickets), Knowledge Base (knowledge_base), AI Chats / Chat History (ai_chats), Versus (versus), Timeline Analysis (reports_timeline), Trend Analysis (reports_trend).
Available to non-operatorsMachines and Hall Plan. Machine visibility still depends on Machine Access.
Personal and feedback pagesUser Profile, Feedback, and Roadmap are available to all roles.

An Operator cannot receive Orders & Products, Alert Rules, or Hall Plan even if a grantable-page list would otherwise include them. Full Access includes all grantable pages within the role; an empty selected-page list includes none. It does not turn a User into an Admin.

The frontend has a Leaderboard route and an admin-only rule, but its current sidebar availability needs confirmation. Ask your admin if it is not reachable.

Why Can I Open a Page but Not See a Machine?

Machine Access is independent of Page Access. An admin may grant all machines or a selected list. Machine Details, Machine History, and PDA require access to the specific machine.

Example: A planner with Assignment Planner access and only Machine A access can use the planning page for their permitted machine. Page access alone does not grant Machine B.

No machine access — contact admin means your account has no accessible machines. Opening a page you are not permitted to use leads to Unauthorized.

How Do I Get the Access I Need?

  1. Tell your admin which page and machine you need, with the task you are trying to complete.
  2. The admin opens Admin Panel → Users → Edit Permissions and reviews Page Access and Machine Access separately.
  3. The admin saves the changes. Recheck in your next session, as described in the existing permissions guide.

Admins can use Invite Users and Manage Permissions for the full workflow.

Operator Credentials and Promotion

An admin creates operator accounts. Generated passwords are shown once; copy or download them before closing. Generating a new password ends that operator's active sessions. Deactivation ends access immediately while preserving past shifts, labels, and assignments.

Promote to user grants access to all machines regardless of the previous machine list. Review the resulting permissions deliberately. Email verification is separate from activation; unverified operators can still sign in, and verification email is not sent automatically.
