Work Centers

Plan orders at workplaces without an AVA and understand what changes when you switch their kind.

Overview

Access: You see the machines and work centers you are allowed to access. Only administrators can create them or change their configuration. Order and planning actions require access to those pages. See Roles and access.

A Work center is a workplace without an AVA. Use it as a destination for orders and assignments, for example work at a manual assembly station.

What You Can See

Work cards also show handovers: Handed over marks a part finished here whose remainder continues elsewhere. A grey badge shows the destination or the source of incoming work and the good parts already made. Hover for details. See handover details.

Open Machines → Work centers. Orders today shows today's booked work, including running and finished steps. Up next shows the first 10 waiting steps in queue order, with numbered positions, planned times, and priorities. Running work appears in Orders today instead of the waiting queue.

Each list shows two cards at a time. Scroll to review more work; longer lists also advance automatically and pause while you interact. Click a card to open the order if you have access. With no work booked today, the list shows No orders worked today yet. See Machines for list controls and limits.

The Work center label distinguishes these destinations in order assignments and selection lists. Hall Plan shows their running orders instead of machine KPIs.

What You Can Do

  • Choose a work center when assigning an operation in order management or planning.
  • Review today’s booked work and the waiting queue from its card.
  • Switch back to the machine view to review live machine states.

Follow Add a Machine or Work Center for setup and Plan Machine Assignments to place work.

Settings and Their Effect

Administrators choose Kind → Work center during creation or in the machine configuration. No AVA can be assigned while this kind is selected. Only the applicable configuration tabs are available.

When converting a machine with AVAs, Switch to work center? lists the devices that will be unassigned. Unassign and switch removes those assignments and stops all KPI calculation for that machine. Review this effect before confirming.

To collect sensor readings again, change Kind to Machine, save, then assign an AVA in the AVA tab. Changing the kind alone does not start data collection. Follow Configure a Machine.

Downtime Reasons

Administrators can also set Downtime reasons for a work center. Choose all company reasons or a fixed selection in its machine configuration. Without machine data, interval assistance cannot suggest times or check past intervals.

Limits

Work centers have no live sensor state, OEE, performance, or availability. They are excluded from machine-state counters and sensor analytics, including Trend Analysis. An empty KPI display does not mean zero performance.

Rules that depend on machine or sensor measurements never trigger for work centers. Check the notices in Alert Rules and Automator before relying on a rule.
